Bobby Womack On Unsung

Bobby Womack, soul singer-songwriter, producer and musician was featured on TVOne's Unsung show last night. Known for his hits such as, "Across 110th Street", "California Dreamin'", "If You Think You're Lonely Now", and "Woman's Gotta Have It", the Bobby Womack gets a chance to share his story with new and old fans alike...

His music has been sampled by K-Ci & JoJo, Nona Gaye, and Mariah Carey. Singer Calvin Richardson recorded a tribute album to Bobby Womack in 2009 entitled, Facts of Life: The Soul of Bobby Womack and is the best tribute I've ever heard. Bobby Womack has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

What I love about his music is that it comes from his soul. He talks about things that everyone can relate to which is why his music continues to get heavy airplay even today. His musicianship, songwriting skills, and not to mention his voice are only to be rivaled by few. To see the the full episode, go here.
