I think it's a shame that talented non-Hip Hop and R&B artists like Goapele do not get the shine they deserve in today's industry. Nowadays, if you don't have a rapper on your song, you don't get as much shine. Artists like Goapele, Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, Kelly Price and others are classified as "Adult R&B" and receive limited airplay. Those artists have to rely on social media and touring for promotion for their music. Radio, unless it's country or rock, caters mainly to the younger artists. Artists either have to adapt or get left behind.
