New Music: Alicia Keys ft/ Maxwell "Fire We Make"

"Fire We Make" is from Alicia Keys fifth studio album, Girl On Fire. Collectively, the album is a good listen. However, as soon as I pressed play on #7, I could tell this one was going to be on repeat! Alicia went back to her cornrow rocking days in the studio, because her and Maxwell did the damn thing with this song right here!  As soon as I saw Maxwell's name while listening to Girl on Fire, I thought, "Awwww shiet!"

The singer/composer and now turns 31 today. Here's one of my favorite songs and video by her, "You Don't Know My Name." It's from her sophomore album, The Diary of Alicia Keys.

We also remember Etta James on today. She would have have celebrated her 74th birthday. She passed five days before she could see it.
